This week, the cryptocurrency market showed an active upward trend, and currently BTC quotes are held around 31300.00 ( 3.6%), ETH – at 2010.00 ( 7.5%), USDT – around 1.0010 ( 0.04%), XRP – at 0.7700 ( 65.5%). The BNB coin, which is currently trading at 260.00 ( 11.2%), fell to fifth place, while the USDC stablecoin left the top five largest digital assets. The total market capitalization increased to 1.239B dollars, and the share of BTC on it was 48.4%.
Analysts followed the dynamics of the XRP token, which significantly strengthened its position after the court of the Southern District of New York ruled in favor of Ripple and ruled that sales and other distribution of digital assets among market participants (excluding institutional ones) do not represent the implementation of investment contracts and, thus, are not securities. Commenting on the successful completion of the trial, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said that he was confident of victory back in December 2020, when the trial was just beginning, and the company's general counsel Stuart Alderoty expressed hope that now the pressure of regulators on the crypto industry will weaken, and the authorities will begin a constructive dialogue with representatives of the sector. Against this background, the largest platforms, including Coinbase, Binance and Gemini, announced the imminent re-listing of XRP.
The second driver of the growth of the crypto market this week was a reduction in consumer inflation in the USA: in annual terms, the indicator decreased by 1.00% and amounted to 3.0%, being below the forecast of 3.1%, and in monthly terms it rose by 0.2%, slightly inferior to preliminary estimates of 0.3%, causing experts to be confident in the imminent completion of the cycle of value appreciation borrowing by the monetary authorities of the country. Analysts allow one or two more small adjustments to the value up to 5.50%, but then it will remain at the current level, and then it is likely to start a cycle of decline, which will certainly have a negative impact on the dollar's position.
In general, it should be noted that in the near future, the influence of the regulatory factor is likely to only increase. The unsuccessful outcome of the lawsuit against Ripple is unlikely to stop the policy of tightening the conditions for the activities of digital companies, which is now actively conducted by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Thus, Binance, the world's largest trading platform, continues to be under close attention from the American and European authorities: branches are actively being deprived of licenses, accusing the company of non-compliance with local legislation and illegal provision of financial services. The situation is also aggravated by the departure of leading managers, as well as a reduction in the total share in the trading volume, which, according to various estimates, now ranges from 58.0% to 42.0%, although at the beginning of the year it exceeded 70.0%.
In the near future, the quotes of the world's leading digital assets may continue to grow or attempt consolidation.
