🔥 NordFX Expert View: US Inflation Heats Up Again US inflation has delivered another warning to the Fed. 🇺🇸 September CPI accelerated to 3.7% YoY, up from 3.4%, while monthly inflation reached 0.6%. More importantly, underlying inflation came in hotter than expected: 📈 Core CPI: 2.6% YoY vs 2.5% expected 📈 Core CPI: 0.3% MoM vs 0.2% expected The timing is uncomfortable. 🛢️ Brent is above $106 as tensions around Saudi Arabia and the Strait of Hormuz keep energy risks elevated. For the Fed, the message is clear: inflation is proving sticky. An October hike is still not the base case, but markets now see a December increase as highly likely. 💵 Higher-for-longer rates favour the dollar. 📊 Stocks face pressure from tighter financial conditions. 🥇 Gold is caught between high rates and geopolitical safe-haven demand. The market's question is shifting from "Is inflation falling?" to "How much more tightening will the Fed need?" 👉 Trade global markets with NordFX: https://my.nordfx.com/en/regis...

💱 NordFX: Why FX Takes Time to Reach Your Shopping Basket A currency moves today. Prices in the shops tomorrow? Not necessarily. 🛒⏳ The path usually looks more like this: 💱 FX move → import costs → company margins → consumer prices Why the delay? 🛡️ Importers may hedge currency exposure months ahead. 💵 Many international contracts are invoiced in US dollars, reducing the immediate impact of some FX moves. 🏭 Companies can absorb higher costs in their margins before passing them on to customers. 📦 Existing inventories may have been bought at older prices. This matters now. US import prices jumped 0.7% m/m and 7.0% y/y in August, while prices excluding food and fuels rose 5.6% y/y. September CPI has since accelerated to 3.7% y/y, as energy costs and geopolitical tensions keep inflation firmly in focus. 🔥🛢️ 🇺🇸 Tomorrow at 08:30 ET, September US import prices arrive. Don't just watch the headline. 👀 Watch whether price pressure is spreading beyond energy into industrial supplies, capital goods and consumer goods. ⚡ FX reacts in seconds. Inflation can take months to catch up. 👉 Explore the markets with NordFX: https://my.nordfx.com/en/regis...
