Stocks retreated from records as hot inflation data and a chipmaker selloff hit sentiment. 🔥 US CPI (April) - Headline inflation jumped to 3.8% YoY (highest since May 2023), beating the 3.7% forecast. Core CPI 2.8% YoY. Energy +17.9%, gasoline +28.4%. Real wages fell 0.5% monthly. Fed rate cuts are fully off the table - markets now pricing a 70%+ chance of a hike by early 2027. 🛢️ Oil - WTI ~$101/bbl.
